More Kindergarten Spaces for Armstrong Creek Families
Exciting news for families in Armstrong Creek! A brand-new kindergarten is set to be built at Bloinkes Community Centre, creating 178 much-needed kinder spaces. Thanks to a state government Building Blocks Capacity Building Grant, this three-room modular kindergarten will make early learning more accessible for local children.
Member for Western Victoria, Gayle Tierney, described the investment as “fantastic news” for the growing community, ensuring high-quality early education is available close to home. “It’s about setting our kids up for success while supporting local families,” she said.
The project is part of the government’s $14 billion Best Start, Best Life reforms, which focus on enhancing early childhood education, easing financial pressures on families, and helping parents return to work or study. Minister for Children, Lizzie Blandthorn, highlighted that the grant would also fund play spaces, car parking, landscaping, and a maternal and child health room.
With plans to expand early learning services across Victoria, the government is committed to delivering 15 hours of three-year-old kindergarten weekly by 2029 and up to 30 hours of pre-prep by 2036.
This investment ensures a brighter future for young learners in Armstrong Creek!
